FREDERICA RAMIRES, FOURTH DEGREE BLACK BELT, SCHOOL OWNER
Chief Instructor and Owner F.M. Ramires is a nationally certified instructor of Taekwondo under the American Taekwondo Association (ATA). Mrs. Ramires is also certified with the ATA in the instruction of Ssahng Jeol Bong (nun chucks), Jahng Bong (long staff), Bhang Manhg EE (stick) and ground fighting. Mrs. Ramires has been practicing martial arts for over 25 years. Mrs. Ramires joined the ATA in 1994, and she holds the rank of a fourth degree black belt with the ATA. Mrs. Ramires has also studied Uechiryu Karate and Shi-To-Ryu with the American Goshin Budo and Kobudo prior to joining the ATA.
Mrs. Ramires’ holds ATA Region 111 accomplishments include 1996 and 1997 Most Outstanding Black Belt, 1997 and 1998 Most Outstanding Instructor Trainee, 1999 Most Outstanding Certified Instructor and Most Outstanding Black Belt. Member of the National Association of Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA)
Mrs. Ramires’ state and national accomplishments include 2003 Triple Crown Winner of Women’s Weapons/Forms/ and Sparring along with NC State Women’s Champion, 2004 NC State Women’s Champion in Weapons and Sparring, 2005 NC State Women’s Champion in Weapons.
Mrs. Ramires in a Swansboro, North Carolina native and has held a law enforcement certification in the state of NC for the past 18 years. Instructor Ramires currently serves as a police officer at the Albert J. Ellis Airport. In law enforcement Mrs. Ramires has held the ranks of Sgt. and Interim Police Chief. Mrs. Ramires holds an Advance Law Enforcement Certificate with the state of NC and has participated in the Officer Friendly, Stranger Danger, and DARE program.
Mrs. Ramires is also a 3 year member of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, a 7 year St. Jude Hospital Fund Raiser and a 2 year member of NAPMA (National Association of Professional Martial Atrists).
ANTON FICKEY JR., THIRD DEGREE BLACK BELT, LEVEL 1 CERTIFIED TRAINER, Anton Fickey is a Certified Trainer under the ATA. Mr. Fickey has been practicing martial arts for over 12 years. Mr. Fickey joined the ATA in 1996, and holds the rank of third degree black belt. Mr. Fickey has also studied Kick Boxing and Weapons Defense prior to joining the ATA. Mr. Fickey studied under ATA schools in Charlotte/Raleigh, NC, and Fredericksburg, VA before coming back to Swansboro, NC
Mr. Fickey was born in Miami, Florida and currently lives in Wilmington, NC but has his family ties in the Swansboro, NC area. Mr. Fickey earned a Bachelor Science Degree from Campbell University. Mr. Fickey held a law enforcement certification in the state of NC from 1984 to 1995 earning an advanced law enforcement certificate. In 1995, Mr. Fickey began federal law enforcement which he still practices today.
JOSEPH SPENCER, FIRST DEGREE BLACK BELT, INSTRUCTOR TRAINEE
Mr. Spencer holds the rank of first degree black beltt, Instructor Trainee with the ATA. Mr. Spencer is a member of the US Marine Corps and recently obtained the rank of brown belt in Taekwondo in the US Marine Corps.
